June Mission Camp

Held on 10th to 12th June, from Thursday to Saturday at BB HQ near Great World City and is organised by Qing Nian Tuan Qi. You can google it up if you have no idea where it is. It's a stay in camp but if you have school or work, modifications can be made to the programme schedule. Its $40 for students and $60 for adults.

This camp is a mission camp, which focuses on mission work both here in Singapore and overseas.

Please reply and pay if you are going by this coming Sunday, 23rd May 2010.

Profile of external speakers:

Daniel and Wei Lei are graduates from the Arts Faculty at NUS, they graduated in1983. Daniel’s degree was in Economics, Philosophy and Statistics. Wei Lei did her honors in Sociology and Social work.

They got married in 1985 and went to serve in Papua New Guinea as missionaries. Daniel went as a computer programmer supporting literacy and Bible translation work and Wei Lei was a pre-school teacher. They felt called to become literacy workers so in 1987 went for linguistic, literacy and translation training in Australia and returned as literacy specialists to Papua New Guinea.

They first served among the Umanakaina people from 1989-92 as literacy specialist. This language group lived in a very mountainous area and are accessible only by helicopter. They setup the literacy training facilities helping the people to train themselves to read the translated scriptures in their own language. Since then there has been a revival among the people there and many have turned to the Lord.

After that they achieved the status of senior literacy consultants and were involved in setting up a national training program for national literacy specialists to become independent in managing their own literacy programs. This was a 2-year training program with 5 modules and involved training Papua New Guineans from all over the nation on behalf of the Government of Papua New Guinea.

They worked among the Daga language group since 1993 in the mountains of Milne Bay.

Their a son, Joshua, who was born in 1994 in India

They setup the literacy programs among the Daga people and it is presently self-sustaining. They have been involved in dubbing the Jesus film into the Daga language and have screened it to hundreds of people in the Daga area. They were successful in setting up social enterprise projects involving timber logging and secondhand clothes business, which helped to support the literacy teachers. They did the re-translation of the New Testament in the Daga language. There is a revival in the Daga area with many transformed communities and changed lives. The Daga New Testament was completed in 2005 and dedicated on 18 June 2005 with thousands of people attending.

Daniel completed his Masters in Adult Education and Training in 2002 through distance education with James Cook University, Australia.

They are presently based in Singapore. Daniel is presently the Missions pastor of Community of Praise Baptist Church and the Executive Director of HighPoint Community Services of that church. Wei Lei is working part time as a social worker with Touch Community.

Daniel continues to help Wycliffe Bible Translators International as a Strategic Partnership Facilitator for the Asia Pacific region.

Wargh! Lasertag

Remember our paintball we had in February? Yes, it's fun isn't it?

So we're bringing it in again, this time in a different dimension. It uses infrared tech, like tv remote control instead of paint pellets, ensuring that you will not get dirty or feel the pain. The main thing about this is that we can play it at where we demand their services. As in, we get the company to the place (the park) where we want to host the game and we can just play there. So it won't be constrained in a fenced up area but in open ground. The range of the weapon is 100m, so it really brings a lot of dynamics to shooting games like this and they provide packages such as protecting VIP, capture the flag, elimination etc.

1520's going camping this year!

Instead of our usual resort style camps, we're trying out camping. But why?

1. It's better for the integration of newcomers, as our camp will focus a lot on new friends, more than our previous camps. They will, through living together and playing and sharing together, get to know people qualitatively. Get to know less people, but understand them better.

2. To bring out the 9 fruits of the Spirit that we're supposed to possess as Christians, especially since we're spending this year building up our Spiritual foundations through QT and bible study lessons etc. It is only fitting we end the year by teaching these and camping is the appropriate way to do this as it allows us to put it into action rather than just listen to sermons.

We're conducting the camp in a small-group, workshop style. Everyone will be split into small groups (tent groups) of up to 6 and will do everything together, such as pitching tents, playing games and staying in the tents playing board games when there's light rain together. Games will be designed such that the small groups will have to interact, communicate and work together. The message of the 9 fruits of the Spirit will be done mostly via workshops where there will be ample opportunity for small group sharing amongst tent mates.

It will be held on the 26th to 28th December 2010, Monday to Wednesday and will be held in Singapore. Tentatively, we're deciding between Sembawang park and Pasir Ris park. The price is not decided yet.

Please do invite your friends along for the camp! Our camp is really centered around integrating newcomers and it would be a wonderful opportunity to invite them. While some may be put off by the idea of camping, some of your friends may be adventurous enough and be excited about it.

We'll try to be as transparent as possible, updating you with programmes we're gonna have in the camp as well as programme ideas we may have, both at service and on this 1520 blog.

Meet at the canteen after service and we will be taking public transport to Toa Payoh. From Toa Payoh there will be a shuttle bus service to Turf City.
The wavier form is important! remember to give your parents to sign it if your playing or they will not allow you to play.

ATTIRE: Wear anything comfortable... long sleeves are not necessary! Do wear comfortable shoes as you'll be running around in the field. As for pants, there is no need to wear long pants- shorts are acceptable..

Time: The game will start at 11 and end at 1pm.. those who have classes and still wish to join us could play the 1st round and will still be able to make it for their class at 12.30pm.

hey guys, xinhui showed me this video. its really cool.
well, some people like say that this guy is like scolding them, but when i watched it, i felt this was more like a reflection for christians than a scolding. and like this sermon is directed to the christians btw :) but this is just my opinion :)

And its time for you all to pay up too. The deadline for submission of money is 13 December.

Well, we've got about 800bucks plus plus today for our fundraising and many thanks to you all who helped out. Especially to WeiYi's mum, Blodwen's mum, WeiLing's dad and Vernicia's mum for preparing the food for us and paying for them.

We didnt manage to go dragon boating because of unforseen circumstances but we managed to go kayaking at Bedok Reservoir instead. Erm. For those who paid up and didn't go, I'll return you the money this coming Sunday. And cos it didn't cost $10 per person for the kayaking, I'll give you back the difference for those who went.

Splendid job people!

We did ourselves an awesome job today and we've collected, what, $700 plus? I'm not sure about the exact figure, but nice work people.

We're giving fundraising another shot this coming Sunday and it'll be more targeted towards the population of our church, the elderly. There'll be no more basketball games and it'll be food like green bean soup, bee hoon and more. So I hope you guys continue to come down and play a part for our 1520 camp.

But that's not all for the 29th of November. There's still dragon boating! There be arrangements on that day for the fundraising to end and be cleared up by 1pm so we can all set off for kallang river. No transport will be provided. We have to reach there by 2pm and we'll row till 4pm.

Bring extra tee-shirts, shorts, sandals and your bathing stuff. If the national stadium is still open, all the better cos there's better showering facilities there, like heated water. Hah!

And if it rains, you are NOT to go off okay? There'll be many wet-weather games being held at the 5th floor right in our church. It'll be fun, I promise. And its crucial that you stay because the SHAOER people will be joining us for our dragon boating/wet weather programme. And there'll be newcomers. So you must must must stay.

One more thing. Our 1520 camp, from 26th to 29th Dec. Registration ends on 29th nov too. you need not pay first, but you gotta hand in the forms. Please do come and bring along as many people as possible to spread God's words to as many people as possible. Besides, it'll be fun if there more people, aint it?

I just stumbled into this and i reckon its pretty meaningful cos we've been saying the Lord's prayer ever so often, maybe we forgot its true meaning and we're just reciting it for the sake of recitation.

And that means in the global village we’re going to have to start loving a whole lot more people, that’s what that means. That’s right. “His truth is marching on.”

... Because whatever thoughts we have about God, who He is, or even if God exists, most will agree that God has a special place for the poor. The poor are where God lives. God is in the slums, in the cardboard boxes where the poor play house. God is where the opportunity is lost and lives are shattered. God is with the mother who has infected her child with a virus that will take both their lives. God is under the rubble in the cries we hear during wartime. God, my friends, is with the poor. And God is with us if we are with them.

This is not a burden, this is an adventure.

You will enjoy the new insights that Rick Warren has, with his wife now having cancer and him having 'wealth' from the book sales. This is an absolutely incredible short interview with Rick Warren - 'Purpose Driven Life ' author and pastor of Saddleback Church in California.

In the interview by Paul Bradshaw with Rick Warren, Rick said:
People ask me, What is the purpose of life?
And I respond: In a nutshell, life is preparation for eternity. We were not made to last forever, and God wants us to be with Him in Heaven.
One day my heart is going to stop, and that will be the end of my body-- but not the end of me.
I may live 60 to 100 years on earth, but I am going to spend trillions of years in eternity. This is the warm-up act - the dress rehearsal. God wants us to practice on earth what we will do forever in eternity.
We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.
Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one.
The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.
We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness.
This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.
I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don't believe that anymore.
Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.
No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.
And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for.
You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems:
If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness, which is my problem, my issues, my pain.' But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.
We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her - It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.
You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.
Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy.
It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before. I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease.
So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, 2 Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.
First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit. We made no major purchases.
Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church.
Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation.
Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to serve God for free.
We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?
When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do.

Hey 1520!
It's been so long since we all had an outing together. The last time was.. Marina Barrage, was it not? Which is so long ago.

So, let's go DRAGONBOATING ON 29TH NOVEMBER, SUNDAY!!!!
It will cost $10 per person and we'll go after our 1520 service.
So it'll be after 12pm and we will be dragonboating for 2 hours.
It will either be at Lower Seletar Reservoir or at Jurong Lake.

We need at least 30 people top fill up the dragonboat, so please do come.
If there's 30 people, we'll be booking 3 10-man dragonboats.
If there's 30-40 people, we'll be booking 2 20-man dragonboats.
If there's 40-50 people...

Ah. You get the gist. The more the merrier! But we must have at least 30 people.

Registration starts this coming Sunday, 11th October and ends at 1st November, Sunday.
I know some of you might be going overseas or something, so try to confirm the dates and if you can make it, please come dragonboating with us!

Hey rojak!
This coming Sunday, 4th October, is cell group day. So after the combined service at the 2nd floor, that is, after 10.30am, it's our time. And we'll head out.
We're going to the Mint Museum of Toys. It's just beside the Raffle Hotel.
Anyway, the entrance fees are as follows..
$7.50 for Polytechnic students
$6 for ITE, Secondary School and Junior College students
Thereafter, we'll have lunch at the Mint Cafe downstairs and spend some time playing board games and have lunch.
We should end at around 2pm.
One thing to note. We'll be able to claim back the entrance fees from our cell group funds but we'll have to fork out the money first.
It's just 2 hours longer than the usual service, so I hope you'll all go.

A man from Norfolk , VA called a local radio station to share this on
Sept 11th, 2003, TWO YEARS AFTER THE TRAGEDIES OF 9/11/2001.

His name was Robert Matthews. These are his words:

A few weeks before Sept. 11th, my wife and I found out we were going to
have our first child. She planned a trip out to California to visit her
sister. On our way to the airport, we prayed that God would grant my
wife a safe trip and be with her. Shortly after I said 'amen,' we both
heard a loud pop and the car shook violently. We had blown out a tire. I
replaced the tire as quickly as I could, but we still missed her flight.
both very upset, we drove home.

I received a call from my father who was retired NYFD. He asked what my
wife's flight number was, but I explained that we missed the flight.

My father informed me that her flight was the one that crashed into the
southern tower. I was too shocked to speak. My father also had more news
for me; he was going to help. 'This is not something I can't just sit by
for; I have to do something.'

I was concerned for his safety, of course, but more because he had never
given his life to Christ. After a brief debate, I knew his mind was made
up. Before he got off of the phone, he said, 'take good care of my
grandchild....' Those were the last words I ever heard my father say; he
died while helping in the rescue effort.

My joy that my prayer of safety for my wife had been answered quickly
became anger. I was angry at God, at my father, and at myself. I had
gone for nearly two years blaming God for taking my father away. My son
would never know his grandfather, my father had never accepted Christ,
and I never got to say good-bye.

Then something happened. About two months ago, I was sitting at home
with my wife and my son, when there was a knock on the door. I looked
at my wife, but I could tell she wasn't expecting anyone. I opened the
door to a couple with a small child.

The man looked at me and asked if my father's name was Jake Matthews. I
told him it was. He quickly grabbed my hand and said, 'I never got the
chance to meet your father, but it is an honor to meet his son.'

He explained to me that his wife had worked in the World Trade Center
and had been caught inside after the attack. She was pregnant and had
been caught under debris. He then explained that my father had been the
one to find his wife and free her. My eyes welled up with tears as I
thought of my father giving his life for people like this.. He then
said, 'there is something else you need to know.'

His wife then told me that as my father worked to free her, she talked
to him and led him to Christ. I began sobbing at the news.

Now I know that when I get to Heaven, my father will be standing beside
Jesus to welcome me, and that this family would be able to thank him
themselves .

When their baby boy was born, they named him Jacob Matthew, in honor of
the man who gave his life so that a mother and baby could live.

This story should help us to realize this: God is always in control.

We may not see the reason behind things, and we may never know this side
of heaven, but God is ALWAYS in control.

Please take time to share this amazing story. You may never know the
impact it may have on someone. God doesn't call the qualified, He
qualifies the called.

Let's go dragonboating!

Hey. 29th November is the hosting of the 少儿 people who are coming up next year and I'm thinking if we could all go dragonboating on that day after that. Together with them so we could get to know each other better and they would be able to adapt to 1520 next year, since dragonboating's a team kind of sport.

I've got the rates

At Water Venture (which has outlets at kallang, jurong lake, bedok and lower seletar)
- 60 dollars for 2 hours for a 10-man db. But it doesn't include the coxswain, the guy who steers the db. It ain't easy and you need someone who knows how to do it.

At SDBA, Singapore Dragon Boat Association at Kallang,
1) Rental of 1 number of 20-crew dragon boat inclusive of 20 paddles,
22 buoyancy vests, 1 rudder, 2 bailers, 1 Trainer & 1 Steersman is at
$200.00 per 2 hour session.
2) Rental of 1 number of 10-crew dragon boat inclusive of 10 paddles,
12 buoyancy vests, 1 rudder, 2 bailers, 1 Trainer & 1 Steersman is at
$170.00 per 2 hour session.

The bad thing about SDBA, I reckon, is that its freaking crowded. And unless the National Stadium's still open, there is minimal showering facilities, if I'm not wrong.

So as you can see, the cost of the coxswain is very high. So it would be better if you can get friends who are licensed to steer the dragonboat to help us out. It will be so much cheaper.

prep for cell group sunday

Heya guys! Today, for the entire day, my (dora's) cell group did the 1520 boards for our booth tomorrow.

Huilun & I were in church from like 10am to about 9pm! haha cos we had hua chong praise team prac in the morning.

It was really tiring, and at times we were grumpy, but it was very rewarding to see our end results :) we felt quite accomplished. And we had fun together, the 5 of us.

we did our stuff at the first floor room.

Isn't the collage on the "1520" words pretty! (:

All the cell group names have multi-colored glitter glue on them. Afterwards we put glitter glue on the macaroni pieces too hahaha

This is our own cell group (macaroni's) gift.

We got 2 jars of macaroni, sieved out EVERY SINGLE WORD among hundreds of macaroni to spell "macaroni 1520", pasted them one letter by one letter, coloured them one letter by one letter, then put glitter on ALL of them.
(I think I died halfway.)

When we FINALLY finished, we hung it up. I think this was about 8pm already?

(Jovan stole the flowers and put them below our table.)

And this is Liang Xiang (?) putting up Vineyard Fellowship's booth next to us.

Oh oh I must mention this hilarious episode we went through.

There was a wedding going on, and the bride's changing room was in the same room as ours, only there was a partition to separate us.

BUT THAT IS NOT THE POINT.

The point is, we were dying to eat their buffet dinner (actually really just Jovan).
Finally at about 7pm someone asked us to go and help ourselves, and I felt so embarrassed!

Because:
1) we were in t-shirt, shorts & slippers while everyone else was in dresses and formal attire.
2) we didn't know the bride or groom AT ALL.
3) we weren't invited to the wedding.

And so while we were helping ourselves to the dinner we could feel everybody watching us and wondering what on earth we were doing eating their food.
(Especially the bride/groom's parents who were sitted at some grand-looking table draped with dark purple cloth.)

hahaha we are so thick-skin right. But the food was super nice! It was like an international spread and everything, up to the cutlery used, was so lovely.

Hey everybody. My friend showed me a video and it made me want to share it with all of you because it's really inspirational and impactful.

Even if we meet with failures time and time again, we should just keep trying. Because at least there is still a probability that we might succeed. God will eventually guide us through no matter how tough the circumstances might be. I think we should all keep this in mind especially when most of us are going through exams or even difficulties in other areas. All the best!

We're gonna go kayaking at Jurong Lake after 1520 (and our lunch) ends.

i would like to share this video. one of the few i could find on youtube. :)

well, when i watched this i was so touched i totally cried.
and u know what, when i let my non-christian friend watch this, all he could think abt it "a father's love"
but when i recalled, it didnt hit me that it was "a father's love" when i watched it, i felt it was more like "God's love"

haha, anyway...
through this camp, i learnt quite a lot.
like during the game although i didnt do drastic things like weijing and daryl, like rob the bank or like the eng service boys, rob the auto-mobile shop. hahaha.
but more like i was so desperate to make my business prosper that i even married this guy who was initally my competitor in my business in attempt to monopolise the market. haha. isnt this like the real world? hahahaha. monopolising. haha.

and like what daryl said, going for materialistic things. but the thing is i didnt even know how what the ending was throughout the whole game. the ending referring to your purpose in life that God had put in place for you. hence, i died, oblivious and ignorant. and i didnt even bother asking, that was the worst thing. i didnt even take initaitive to ask abt the ending although i knew it was a game. i didnt even bother questioning and all. and that led to my death. after the game, while i was reflecting, i realised i felt like one of those people who knew what the RELIGION christianity is but didn't even know WHO is jesus, WHAT is salvation and everything. i felt as if i wasnt well-informed. but honestly, i didnt know anyone in the game that went to church, everyone was so concentrated at going after the materialistic things in the game, fulfilling all the requirements. like me wasting time doing that, when they could have been looking for the ending. but ultimately i felt as if i was one of MY OWN friends in the real world. where they knew I WAS A CHRISTIAN but they didnt ask, so i should intiate to speak to them, let the word of God lay in the depths of their soul and slowly it is grow. and i know i can do this by bringing more friends to church, but how? the means of doing it is determination, patience, understanding and friendship. this is what i feel at least.

at first at the end of the game i was just very upset that i was where i was, den a while after the game when mushi spoke to us and during the reflection when liren said: this is as real as its gonna get" i just felt so horrible, cause being a christian, i dunno how much i have done to deserve God's love, and i felt that maybe, just maybe i could do more for him.

and also like this camp made me realise how carefully crafted we all are and how handicapped we are, and how much of nothing we are without God. really, there isnt anything we can do to repay his love.

this camp also really made me realise that when God wants me to go for this camp, he really made it happen. he made swine flu come, made my finland trip cancel along with a lot other people's trips. like how most of the people in my dorm is there because most of their trips overseas cancel. haha. this led to us being super fast friends. haha, talking into the night with girls of other church in one night and playing and talking to english service people the whole of the last night of camp. haha. it was interesting cause i didnt know that the who the eng service people were before. and like i only knew they existed but never spoke to them. but after this camp, i'm proud to say you really cant judge a book by its cover, cause its like growing up in this church i've always felt the eng service people were like so alien to me and so i dunno.. creepy. but after this camp i realised that they are really just very friendly, funny and all. me and candice were talking on the last night, we were like saying how come we BOTH grew up in the SAME church and NEVER spoke to each other before. like really never spoke to each other before. and i was so grateful for swine flu for once. like cause swine flu caused my finland trip to cancel, and for once i was so happy it was.

amazing how God works to bring us all together, cause we are suppose to be ONE BIG family. and this made me feel closer to the eng service ppl and the other church ppl also. haha.

not to forget this camp also made me realise that God was actually preparing me to go for the camp i guess? cause before the camp i thought of the song in the video, i can only imagine. as well as the song here i am, lord. those that when for the camp would understand what i'm saying. casue those songs appeared once again in the camp, and i felt that God was talking to me, and i was so touched.

really, God was worked wonders in this camp. :) this is so far what i can think of lar :) thansk for reading :)

On the bus back from LIFEimpact, I decided that the first thing I'll do when I get back home would be to share what I've learnt there.
I've had a lot of fun in the camp and learnt loads. To me, I think I learnt even more from this camp than I had in the mission trip last June at Mae Chan.

In the lifegame, we play out a game of life. With our money and wages we are supposed to purchase stufff that we need and want. The more luxury goods you buy, the more privileges you get.
As the game played on, I became increasingly dissatisfied with the amount of money I have. I was greedy. I wanted more.
So I robbed a bank to get more money to afford the lifestyle I want to lead.
However, I wanted even more. I robbed again.
But by the time the game ended, I realised that in the lifegame, I was too busy leading such a materialistic lifestyle that I did not bother to seek God within the lifegame. To me, money was the priority. Or rather, I am the priority. Money was such a great temptation that I was willing to commit sins to get more money.
So, in a way, it came to me as a very strong reminder of how I have to depend on God not be like that in real life. After the game, I was pretty terrified. What if I truly became like that in real life? What if I lose all morals, lose God and do everything possible for myself, and lose God in the process? I was reminded of how important it is to constantly depend on God to lead a life worthy of God.

The simulation of the return of Jesus Christ also taught me something crucial. The 'true christians' are seperated from the 'non-believers', with the former going to heaven and the later, to hell. After that, Chen Mushi shared with us his feeling of being up there while the rest of us were down, destined for hell. He was visibly upset that we were sent to hell.
At that moment it struck me that 2 scenerios could happen when Jesus truly come.
1. I am sent to hell becauise I did not attempt to initiate and grow a fruitful relationship with God and was preoccupied with leading my life, putting myself at the top of the priority list, instead of God.
2. I go to heaven, but the people I know, are sent to hell. I know I will feel guilty when this happens. There's so much opportunities I have to spread the word of God. To my close friends, to the person sitting beside me in class, to many others, but I haven't. And I know it won't be a one-way kind of feeling. They, too, will be angry with me for not spreading the gospel to them.
It was at that moment, that I told myself that I will put more effort to bring the message of God to other people.

On the last night of the camp, the pastor talked about stepping out and giving our all for God, to put God at the top of our priority list. He told uis to pray, to commit ourselves, if we are willing.
I reckon, that has got to be the toughest 5 minutes of my life. I struggled. I prayed to God, asking him to give me strength and courage to commit myself, to give him the throne of my life.

Life is as real as it could get. And I want to make sure that my name is written in the Book of Life.

Passport
Jackets and whatnot. I'm told it'll be pretty cold there.
Personal medication
Malaysian currency. There is shopping on the last day. And you will have to pay for your lunch and dinner on the last day.
Paper and Pen
Towel, none will be provided.

On the 11th June, please report to Church, at the fifth floor at 6.15am Sharp.
We're running on a very tight schedule, so don't come late.
The reason why you have to arrive at 6.15am instead of 6.30am is so that there enough time to brief us on our rooming and to ensure that we will be able to set off in time.

On the 14th June, please note that the time we will arrive in Singapore Life Church is around 10pm to 12 midnight.
So please arrange your own transportation home.

1. Pray for mushi and yizhen's dad (who are both overseas now doing mission!)
- Pray that they can start be in the pink of health and bring God's love to the people there!
- Pray that they also have the strength to carry on even if satan is disrupting them

2. Pray for our army boys
- Pray that they can continue to get use to the kind of life
- Pray that they can be healthy in this difficult period of time!

3. Pray for the MAE CHAN people!
-Pray that they would continue attending church even though they have all returned to their own homes.

4. Pray for the JUNE CAMP.
-Pray that God will touch more people to attend the camp.
-Pray also that God will be with everyone especially the new friends and that they will believe in christ and join our slc family!

GUYS!
The deadline for the June camp has been extended to this Sunday, 19th April 2009.
The pricing, if you forget, is $180 for students
$200 for non-christians
$220 for chiristians.
You are required to fill up an application form and hand in a deposit of $50 if you are going.

If you can go, please do.

Don't think,'Because everyone is not going for the camp, I won't.'

It'll just worsen it and perpetuate the cycle. If you don't go because of this excuses, then there will be less people going for the camp and other people will, too, say the same thing.

So, please do go. For all you know, after you sign up, other people may follow.

And if, you still think not enough people are participating, you can always ask your own friends to come along! Invite your classmates! Your CCA mates! The deadline for them will be the first week of May, so you've got a pretty long time to invite/persuade/trick/scam/drag then into going with you.

**LiFEgame is a creative simulation game of life that seeks to provide an environment for participants to discover God's purposes for their lives in this world. A "make-believe" world (a city) is set up in a camp or retreat environment where participants are given the opportunity to live out their whole lives however they wish. Starting at age 15, they begin to pursue their dream, get an education, find a job, buy their first car, purchase a house, get married, raise a family, and climb the ladder of success. Every hour they will age 5 years and they have to take care of their personal needs like food, clothing, health, etc. Like in real-life they may face health problems, accidents, fines, or even death as a result. No one knows how long they will live. Some might die prematurely while others may retire at a ripe old age before they meet their creator face to face. LiFEgame is about living life and that's where the reality of the real world sets in. Eventually each participant question, "What's the point of life?" and that, is the whole point of the LiFEgame -an opportunity to discover God's purpose for living. Coupled with PurposeDriven Life workshops, small-group discussions, dramas, mimes, songs, videos, & messages, the LiFEgame challenges participants to make a commitment to Christ. On average, about 80% of the participants made one of these life-changing decisions. As of December 2007, some 32 LiFEgame camps have been conducted, impacting more than 5,500 lives for Christ ranging from youths to retirees. Are you ready for the impact?
